Default m&h racemaster tires hook hard.

i borrowed my buds tires to go to the track and on them they said m&h racemasters, which i never heard of.i went to the track and i was able to lonch at 5,000rpm's with almost no spin at all on a stock suspenshion.i cut 2.5tenths off my best time over et-streets,in hoterweather.this is the best tire i ever used and it's a drag radial, not a slick. this tire puts et-streets in the ground.the size was 305/40/16 26in tall and can be bought at jegs performance for $170.00 a piece. i ordered a set allready.

Never heard of them? They were pretty much the only DOT Drag tire back in the late 80s early 90s. I didn't know anyone still ran them though since the popularity of E/T Streets hit so high! Good to hear about some ol skool parts being used!

I sold them to a friend, I had a set of 16's mounted on Firebird twistie's.

He said they work well considering he has 400+ rwhp.

And I sold them to Joe D. They work. Period. M&H tire Co. started just outside of Boston, Mass. in the early 60's. Moved to Gardner, Ma., I believe, sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. They now are gone from Gardner, Ma. I think someone might have bought Marvin's molds, but not sure. They are advertising in Jeg's and the other major speed catalogs now. Where their homebase is, or who bought them out--if anyone, I don't know. Anyone who has drag raced for a long, long time will know of M&H Tire Co. Big Daddy made them famous!! Their d.o.t. M&H Racemasters 305x16's work very well on F Bodies and C5 cars. They're 26.5" tall, very soft, and REALLY need tubes for top end stability w/less than 15 psi. Hope this helps some of you young guns out.... WJ.

the m&h tires i borrowed did have tubes. as soon as i returned them,i called jegs and ordered two sets.i have been on et-streets,and i hook WAY better on the m&h. 5,000 rpm lonch with no spin and stock susp,i'm adding a tq-arm w/lca's i wanna see what 6,000rpm's will get me.

They're now made by Interco Tire Co:

Wish they made a 17" DR that would fit... They have a 390/40R/17 but that would be pretty tough to fit under our cars.

Does the 305/40 tire really fit very well on a 8 inch wide wheel?

no offense but maybe the M&H tires you were using were just newer. You'd be surprised what a set of new tires/slicks will do

I went 1.71 on drag radials without really trying back in 2000.

I had a set of 275-60-15 M&H DOT's and I went 1.61-1.62 on them, and they were bald and a hundred years old.
