Its a composite using parts of real images and generated images I found online. I had to do some cleanup and sizing to get it to look the way it does. The red voice modulator is a real picture of the one from KITT. The pictures may look a little dark on your monitor, but they will look fine on the Pioneer AVIC-D3's screen. Its color rendering and contrast ratio are a bit different than your typical computer monitor. Check out my pics of the unit installed to see how the background looks on the unit.

Where did you find the knight rider background? I just installed a pioneer avic 4200 head unit and would love to use this if possible. Please post instructions?
Also, besides it being a background, does it offer any simulation on voice movement?
Thanks for any instructions.

I made that Knight Rider background. Its a composite of real a real picture of the dash from the show and features I added and edited. I think the only real part I kept ended up being the voice bars. I pretty much replaced/re-created the rest. It is a still picture and doesn't move.
I don't know how to change the background on your specific model radio. You'll have to look at the instructions.
EDIT:
I just realized that I re-typed what I wrote above in different words.
(look at what I wrote under the picture)
