Default Question about Factory CD Changer

Here is my question. My brother gave me his factory CD changer out of his '99 TA since his head unit went out and he is gettng a different stereo set-up. My car didn't come with a changer. The CD Changer is in perfect condition too. His car has the same Monsoon stereo as I do except he has a CD Changer, so I figured it would work. My brother told me my car already has the plugs and everything need ready to go. So I go out to my car and find the plug need for the CD changer in the trunk area. I plug it in, and the Changer fires up and starts looking for CDs, so I figured it was working. Well I throw a CD in it and get in the car and try to listen to it but nothing happens. Is there something else that's left out of the equation or am I just out of luck? I'm thinking there is a plug in the back of the head unit that need to be plugged in or unplugged. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

1998 and some 1999 CD decks will not contorol a changer, you need to get a late 99 or 2000+ CD player.

Sorry

Ryan.

SOME 98 decks will control a changer -- mine did.. Seems the cars built very late in the year (mine was built May 11, 1998).
