Default Stupid Question

I have a dumb question. I have a 99 Z28 and The yellow trunk release button does not work. In order to open it I have to turn off the car and use the remote. I look at all my fuses and they are good both in the car and under the hood any ideas? Thanks

my remote works so i think it is just the button. I also noticed that when I have the Emergency brake on there is no light (this may be the problem no light so the button is not armed) How might I go about fixing that?

did you have the E-brake on and door open? I think there's some safety measures in our cars so that the trunk can't be opened when the car is moving

Yeah I tried it with the door open and ebrake up. But when I pull the ebrake up my brake light does not come on. Is there a fuse or something I that is hooked up to the ebrake that I need to change. All the fuses in the pannel and under the hood look good to me. Thanks

There is probably some sort of microswitch that is activated by pulling up the e-brake handle. Pull up the console and look around.

Ok I figured it out. It was a combination of two things. There is a ground that the ebrake was suposed to hit well it was bent a little out of line. Fixed that and now the ebrake light is lit. Next the hatch i took off the pannel and found that the damn thing wasnt even pluged in?? WTF!! ok well I pluged it in and presto!
