I have a 99 ws6 and the trip odometer resets and the guages sweep when it is colder out.
I got a 2000 trans am guage cluster and I was going to swap components so it wouldn't reset anymore.
Questions:
1) If I swap out the green circuit board in my 99 cluster for the board from the 2000 cluster will that cure the reset/sweeping issues? Will my original mileage still appear as it was?
-I am assuming that mileage is kept in the odometer/trip odometer lcd display board that is separate from the main green circuit board. Is this correct?
2) Do I need to go to a dealer to get the new board matched up to the air bags like some other posts said?

Yep - gauges sweep is common to 99's when the battery starts to wane a little, swapping clusters will do nothing for it
If you do swap clusters the mileage from the donor car stays with the cluster
Have not heard of the airbag thing, did not have a problem with mine when I switched clusters though

There is a problem with the '99 clusters and that is why I want to try and put a 2000 one in there.
My battery is new and it still resets on a cold day. Only when it is colder out. On warmer days it is fine. ---> So it isn't the battery.
Plus, as I said in my initial post, I want to keep the digital LCD odometer/trip readout from my '99 and put it into the 2000 cluster to keep my mileage correct.
I heard you have to resync a different cluster to the airbag system otherwise the airbag light will be on.

No, the airbag light is on to warn you that something is wrong with the airbag system and it will not deploy. IOW, not only will the warning light not cause the airbag to deploy, even a front end collision will not cause the airbag to deploy until you get it fixed.
