Default 02 Formula stereo... mostly done (pics)

**Updated pic in post #12**

I got this work done over the summer, but I'm finally getting around to posting up some pictures. I can't get over how good this system sounds with just the stock speakers and Monsoon amp. Eventually I'll replace those, but for now, I'm loving this.

System is:

Premiere DEH-P690UB head unit w/ custom-ish mounting bracket
Full iPod integration
PAC SWI-X to maintain full steering wheel controls
JL 8W3v3-4 8" subwoofer
Alpine MRP-F240 amplifier powering the sub

Even with just the one 8" sub, this system has nice, deep, clean bass. I didn't want to rattle the car apart or wake the neighborhood... I just wanted to rock hard

I would also like to throw out an unsolicited plug for Kee Audio, who fabbed up the stealth box for my 8" sub since nobody out there mass-markets one. Absolutely high-quality work for a fair price. I haven't had any issues at all with this.

looks good except for the wires running on top of the carpet in the back. Why didn't you run them under? It only takes a small 1" slice in the carpet to pass the wires through.

X2. (unless it is not finished?)
The amp would look better centered.

It's just one of those little things I've been intending to do but haven't quite gotten around to yet. I'm going to by Dynamatting my interior at some point soon, so I figure I'll do it then.

"02 Formula stereo... mostly done (pics)"

he might have meant this by that.

on an off note where the amp is mounted looks much lower than my 98 t/a's..... i think mine is only an inch and a half shorter than the rear seats.

I LOVE the mounting bracket. Did you make it? Does it have light behind it to illuminate "Firebird"?

Or did someone make it for you and where can I get one! I would love to have one for my SS Camaro! Something other than a Scosche (pardon spelling) mounting kit.

You have PM. It's from a non-sponsor, but yes, it is lit from behind.

I finally had a nice day, so I took everyone's advice and hid the wires under the carpet. I think it looks much cleaner now. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic but my wife had the good camera today.

I often wonder why people put an amp here,
there is plenty of room to hide one in the spare tire space.

Crazy as it sounds, I actually like to see the amp. Besides, I also want to keep my spare tire.

That would probably be a much bigger problem if I didn't have limo tint on the back glass. I'm not too worried about it.
