Question ???REMOVE R.A.P. (retained accessory power).....

any way to remove R.A.P? tried just cutting that wire and then my accessories just wont work at all after

may splicing the R.A.P. wire to another wire to get rid of R.A.P?

i dont need R.A.P. because i removed my power door locks so the sensor in the door latch just keeps the dome light on for ten minutes before the dome light shuts off

The RAP system has nothing to do with your courtesy lights. The RAP circuit keeps providing power to your radio and windows after shutting off the ignition until you open a door or it times out (about 10 minutes). You can remove it by cutting the dark blue wire at the BCM and patching the end that goes into the car to a normal ignition controlled power source. Be sure to insulate the cut end that goes to the BCM because it will still be live.

As far as the courtesy lights go, you must have cut too many or the wrong wires when removing the power locks. You need to retain the wiring to the door lock that supports the door open switch. Otherwise, the BCM will never know when a door is opened in order to control the courtesy lights.

That depends - what do you want connected (i.e. how many amps) and what wires do you still have in the car?

The only ignition controlled power at the BCM is the pink wire from the GAUGES fuse but it is only a 10-amp circuit that is already using much of that capacity.

That's actually not a RAP issue - it's a door lock switch issue. The BCM doesn't know when the door is opened so it doesn't shut off the courtesy lights or the RAP circuit until the battery saver timeout occurs.

You could convert the RAP circuit to work like an ordinary ignition controlled circuit by just grounding the gray/black wire in the blue connector at the BCM. This will make the BCM think the driver's door is open all the time so it disables RAP and only provides power when the ignition is on.
