Default Hidden IPod?

Has anybody wired their ipod connections to the glove box or center console? Just thought it would be a neat idea and a little more secure.

I'm doing it right now. I'm installing an Alpine iDA-X100 deck. I've drilled a hole in the back of the console that I'll be running the cable into. Underneath the console there is a hollow space between the rear wall of the storage space and the rear seat cup holders. I test fit the cable and it will run hidden underneath the console up through the space and then into the storage compartment. No pics yet.

I have have mine (nano) under my driver's seat. It's not mounted or anything, but it definitely stays out of sight. I had it in my center console for some time, but I just didn't like having to fumble through everything I kept in my console every time I got it out. I'll post a pic tomorrow for you.

That's exactly what I did too. Yep you can run the wire right under the console and then up and through the back of the storage compartment.

I have the IDA-X305 head unit, I routed my wire into the glove box, that way I can just leave it in there locked. I'd feel a bit uncomfortable leaving it in a non secure area.

I ranthe wire to my center console. I'm waiting patiently for the Alpine KCX 422TR to be released, it so happens that the fourth generation Ipod Nano can't be charged from the KCE 422I wire comming from the Alpine CDA-9887. Going back to your question, the ipod is neatly tucked away in the center console.

I have mine in the console also. I drilled a hole where the finger recess is...just under the upper console overlap (where the coin holder is). That way, the hole is unseen, and if I ever want to pull the iPod wire out of there, there won't be a visible hole in the console.

I keep my console empty....just the iPod and GPS is stored in there.

This is also EXACTLY how I did it. The hole is pretty much hidden, and since I dont keep anything in the center console either, this works out great for me.

I have mine wired through the glove box. I always detach my faceplate and lock it in the glove box when I leave my car.
