Choosing an AMP for my sub, HELP!!! Hey guys, I could really use your help. After using the search option and reading several threads I'm still at a loss of how to choose the right AMP for the single 12" sub that my husband just got me as a gift. First off, he's a motor head NOT an audio guy, his heart was in the right place so if the sub is crap - I need to make this work 
Here's the specs on the sub, I would be sooooo grateful if you could recommend some amplifiers and wiring help for this single sub setup... Thanks

There's also the U.S.Amps Md-1D, and the MMATS D1100.2,
Both put out 750rmswatts @ 2ohms
As far as amp wiring kits, IMO Streetwire, or Stinger with 4 gauge or larger.
For rca's IMO 5 meter Monster Cable.

Wire the the sub like this: negative to negative to the negative on the amp, then positive to positive to positve on the amp. This will give you a 2ohm load. As far as amps you are going to be looking for a mono amp that has 700-1500 watts at 2ohms. This is more limited than you would think because most mono amps have their power at 1ohm. All those mentioned are all capable. Depends on your budget what you want to go with. I happen to have a Quantum Audio QS1500D mono amp that is 750w at 4ohm and 1500w at 2ohm. I have researched it and supposedly it is over-rated and puts out around 1000w at 2ohm. It is in no way better than the amps that have been suggested! But it is made by the same company as your sub and seems to match up to it. I have it listed for sale in the classifieds but haven't bumped it up in about a week. If you are interested I can give you a really good price on it. It is brand new in the box only opened up to take pictures. Just hit me up with a PM.

In my search for JL Audio I'm seeing that TMA is an off brand of theirs, anyone have any experience with TMA? Less pricey but still reputable being a JL brand?

LS1Zedder, What he is talking about is how to wire the Sub. She has a dual voice coil sub. Each voice coil has a 4 ohm load. So you have a couple options for wiring. The way he explained is to wire the 2 voice coils in parallel. When you wire a DVC sub in parallel it cuts the ohm load in half. So if it is a 4 ohm DVC sub wired in parallel it is a 2 ohm load, if it is a 8 ohm DVC sub wired in Parallel it becomes a 4 ohm load, ect. ect. ect.
The other option is to wire in Series. However in her situation this is a bad idea. Because that would create a 8 ohm load, which you wouldnt find an amp to power that. You can google sub wiring diagrams.

I decided to get the TMA 1000/1 made by JLAudio, its more in my budget right now and has to be a step up from the Xplod equipment that I've been listening to for the last 2 yrs which actually didn't sound bad to me, but hey... I'm old! 
I'm not looking for competition stuff anyway, just want my Lynyrd Skynyrd & Johnny Cash to sound good
