I have a rocky mountain radar c430 and it works great. I have tested it in two different cities(got friends in high places), It jams them till you are within 40 ft of them and it pickes up long befor you can see them. I have had if for over 3 years and I only got one ticket so far. And I really deserved that one. He was hiding and pop shotted me from 20 ft.

Glad it works for you.... When I seaerched radar detectors/jammers EVERY test I read said that RMR was was a joke and a fraud....... Just look at how cheap their stuff is appearence wise compared to V1, Passport and BEL the acknowlegded leaders........ That tells you something... Search radar roy and guys of lidar and see what they say....

I think, YOU yourself have to be alert and a radar will just help those hidden corners, and you're all good..

No complanits here with my "cheap" detector..
An Escort/BEL/V1 would have given you even more notice.

Most new police radars are more efficient and are harder to detect and this is when a more sensitive RD can really pay off.

If I were going budget RD I would look at Whistler very hard. They perform at almost the level of the big boys but for a lot less......

V-1. I had a Whistler...it went off while the cop was writing the ticket. lol.
The V-1 is upgradable. It works great and anyone who has ridden with me is amazed that it can pick up radar over a mile a way. Laser is like getting shot with a gun. Once your detector goes off, you've been popped already. Unfortunately it is becoming more popular here in STL. But my V-1 has more than paid for itself. Its like having "Goose" riding with me as I play "Maverick".

I am glad you think so. This is what got me wanting one of these Rocky Mountain units. I worked with a guy back in 2002, he had a RMR Phantom 2 detector & jammer. He tells me he knows a few of the local police officers in his town. He had them test it out & he says they couldnt read his speed until he drove right in front of the cop car. So in 2005 I bought a RMR C430. Detects radar ok, but how well it jams I cant say. Well, I had problems with it, main thing was the speaker went out. So I sent it in to RMR & they installed a new speaker. Well, that lasted about 6 months & the speaker quit working on it again. I still got it, dont use it, it powers up & the lights work but thats no good. So I was looking for a new RD, wasnt happy with RMR. Anyway, I ended up checking out this radar roy site, & every RMR unit has been tested by police radar, they can still read your speed every time no matter the distance. So you got friends in high places onebad383stroker? Did the local cops test yours for ya too? After watching the videos on radar roys site of the local police testing these along with the news reporting on it, I would trust that much more than what RMR "claims" their "jammers" effectively jam police radar so they dont know your speed.

well i have a 60 dollar radar from a convenient store that i got when i went on a long road trip with some f body buddies.. know for sure i wasnt gonna do the speed limit so i bought it just for that weekend... havent had a ticket yet and it has saved me alot of times... the only thing thats annoying is that it goes off for any radar... especially the doors that slide open when you walk up to it...

My friends got the v1. He gets so many false alerts its almost constant and it remains off alot. Then one time on a trip when I wanted to see how it worked it went off and it was actually real but of course he ignored it because he thought it was the shopping center setting it off and got a big ticket. My 9500IX works wonderfully and when it alerts me I know its serious. The GPS technology is so much better than the V1 with autolearn to lock out false alerts and of course adjusts its sensitivity by how fast your going. Who cares about arrows, when my 9500IX goes off I know its serious and slow down anyway.

I trust the V1 more than anything out there. They upgrade their software too on a regular basis, maybe his was setup wrong or fiddled with. Sometimes people turn off certain bands and mess with the factory settings. If your detector filters out too much, chances are you will get nailed eventually. There is really no way for it to pick out just police. That's why the arrows tell you once you are past a automatic door or whatever. Without arrows you are looking in front, behind, to the side, you have no clue where the threat is.

I kinda figured that. All I know is this: My BEL RX65 does a fine job of picking up radar from quite a ways away, whether it be from a cops radar gun or some security alarm radar, but I can always tell by the type of noise it makes if its a cop or not. I still get very few false alarms compared to any other RD I have ever owned. It has saved me many times & lasted longer than my RM unit. I dont feel comfortable using a RM unit wondering whether it "really" jams radar or not. I have seen too many vids over & over & over showing their stuff doesnt really work.

Yeah but if you hardwire it you don't need the cord anyway. Plus, if you ever decided you didn't want it hardwired anymore you could just spice it back together, goo das new.
