Default Lowbeam Bulb Swap

Hey, guys.

Can someone please tell me how to swap bulbs for the driver's side lowbeam headlight (98-02 TA)?

Recently noticed that it's out when stopped in back of another vehicle with polished paint. The passenger side lowbeam works, as well as both highbeams.

By the way, is the correct bulb available at Autozone?

Thank you.

Yup. Replace in pairs. You need a phillips screwdriver and a t-15 torx screwdriver. Isnt hard at all.

Put the light up manually with the ****, and its pretty self explanitory

Do I have to release these bolts or remove the entire motor to get into the bulb housing?

Would you also happen to know the aftermarket bulb model number?

Thanks very much.

No, just turn on the headlights, look at them straight on, and it will all make sense. If you turn the switch back to park, the lights will go off and stay up so you don't get blinded.

1. Turn headlight **** all the way to the on position.
2. Turn headlight **** back to middle position
headlights will stay up but be off
3. Using a philips screw driver, remove the three screws from the plastic shroud surrounding the headlight bulbs.
(left, top-middle, right)
4. Pull off the plastic shroud
5. Looking at the thin metal trim around headlight bulb, use a T-15 torx to loosen the top two bolts half way (the bolts are about 1in long).
6. While holding the bulb, remove the lower two bolts.
7. While holding the bulb, Tilt out the metal trim ring.
8. Pull out the bulb.
9. Pull the connector off the bulb.
Reverse the process with the new bulbs.

I thought these headlights were sealed beam units ( can't take bulbs out ) as i have now got myself some new high & low units, here is the link: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=3929

Correct. They are sealed beam units. The bulb is the entire metal and glass housing.

Those should give you better light than stock.

No, but many people do it anyway. If you search you'll see plenty of threads on the subject.
