Default Ticking heard in speakers...?

Ok... it's a very weird issue. Every so often, doesn't seem to matter if I'm listening to a CD, radio or the I-pod through an adapter in the auxillary plug, but it seems that the speakers pick up the spark plugs firing. I know it sounds crazy, but it's the only I can think of. And this is why... when it starts ticking through the speakers, it will speed up with higher RPMs, leading me to believe that it's somehow tied into the plugs firing, wires or the coils or something. It doesn't happen all the time and I honestly couldn't tell you what happens differently at some times over others to make it start up. Anyways, I'm sure this description wasn't the best, but I'm hoping that someone has had this problem before and give me some sort of insight to its fix.

Thanks,

Adam

Bad connection to your Head unit. It's your alternator.

Not necessarily. What you are hearing is noise from your alternator.

Yeah, probably a bad ground or something, so check that first. If it's not that then you can probably fix it with a noise suppressor. But I'd try to find the problem before implementing a workaround, so to speak.

I had this same problem when I swapped out my stock wires to MSD's. For what-ever reason the MSD wires allowed noise to get into the sound system.

I swapped out the MSD wires with another brand, and it cleared everything up.

And where would I be checking for a bad ground?

I have the MSD wires... interesting. Aren't they... the best? (at least for these cars, and mine is a DD?)
