Default Wiring Door Speakers

Alright, I cannot figure out how to get speaker wire into the door through that little weather shield hose thing. If anyone knows how to do it, please let me know, I'm stumped. Yes, I searched, here and on google.

You can pull it off to make it easier to get wire through it. It comes off like the rubber plugs in the floor do.

Best way is to use an electricians fishtape. These are used for putting wire through conduit in homes and other applications where you need to run wire through an enclosed location. You can also use a coat hanger but be careful as it can damage the wiring harness if your not careful. You can start at the door, run the tape or coat hanger through there and into the kick panel area. Then you can attach the wire and pull it back through.
The passnger side is easier then the drivers side as the harness is larger on the drives side because of all the extra accessories on that side.

I used a coat hanger and put a loop on the end of it. Cover the end with electrical tape while pushing it through, tape the wires you need to the coat hanger, then pull it back through.

I actually used tig welding wire, but a coat hanger is essencially the same.

Yup...like Ian said. The fishtape can be bent to better navigate around the bellows. It's a pain but be patient. Feel the rubber bellows as you push the tape through. Pull it towards you to bend it to conform around the rubber. When you get it close, stink a finger in the door to guide the tape through the opening. Be patient...

The reason you are having trouble is because entire wire bundle is compressed and taped to the rubber conduit just inside the car. If you use some type of fish tape through the center of the bundle, it may work, but if you are greatly increasing the gauge of the wire, then you'll need to take the electrical tape of of the bundle.

To get the tape off, you just need to pull the rubber conduit out of the door jam and then you should see the tape on the end of the conduit. Once that tape is off, you can easily push wire through by hand.

Alright guys, I'm stepping up (or down, whatever) to 14 gauge wire, but its not super thick, so it should fit. I'll try to coathanger + tape tomorrow, hopefully I don't go poking holes.
