so i see there is no RPM or anything? But there is a class 2 serial... does that hook up to the ecu's 58 DK GRN 1049 ECM/PCM/VCM Class 2 Serial Data on the blue connector?

It goes to the Star connector, all modules are joined thru it. (Fbody)

What do you mean?
The PCM wire (blue 58) is dark green all the way to the slice and the IPC wire is gray.
All the wires are merged at the slice for data transfer at the DLC. (purple)

i am also interested in this:
what gauges does that serial data line carry the signal for? is the signal interpreted at the gauge cluster? or is the BCM involved there somehow? Does the BCM do any actual interpretation of the signal or is that done at the gauge cluster?

- Airbag indicator
- ASR Off indicator (TCS Off in Firebirds)
- Brake warning (only to indicate loss of serial data signal)
- Change Oil indicator

I am trying to find out what all I would need to get a 2000 or so truck cluster working in a 81 c-10 LS swap. I know that fuel guage won't work, but if I wire in the pin outs on the connector from the pcm, lighting, turn signals and maybe Check engine should all work correct?
