Question Sound help and suggestions for Detoxx

Okay guys i've been out of the sound game for a while and finally decided i'm tired of the Monsoon system. I had 2 10" Rockford Fosgate subs, 500 watt Rockford Fosgate amp, and a Alpine head unit in my 96' Trans Am with a custom sealed box. It hit hard but at the time that was my only goal and I didn't give a damn how heavy it was. For this car I already decided i'm gonna go with a Pioneer double-din and one stealth box but have no clue what sub, amp, or component set to go with. I'm not looking to beat the block or crack the pavement but something that has a nice clean sound with a good amount of bass. All help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hows this?

Amp: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...hp?model=PDX-5

Front Components: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=SPS-600C

Rear Coaxials: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPS-600

Sub: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...odel=SWS-1043D

Wiring For Sub: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/...4-ohm_mono.jpg

What's cool about this system is you can run all four speakers for the front, rear, and the sub in the back.

So you can run it all on 1 amp? Is it all plug and play with no mods?

All good with me. I really like those HU mounts but I like the idea of having a double din more. Right now i'm in full research and get info mode. Hoping to make a decision within the next month atleast that way I can have everything purchased.

I hear KEE Audio has some good products speaker wise espically for the cost that are plug and play with the factory setups. Meaning you could purchase a sub,box and amp with a HU of your choice and just hook that up and be done with the system.

As far as the HU. I want a Double Din also. but the price for the trim bezel to go around it is stupid expensive. I dont feel comfy making my own however at the same time I dont want to just spend that kind of money on one.

And keeping my steering wheel controls are a must have for me anyway so the PAC unit will have to be ordered.

I'm definitely keeping the steering wheel controls. I've thought about getting a regular HU to save time and money but i'm gonna stick with the double din. I'll check out kee audio.

Alpine stuff isn't all that....

Kenwood amp (better value than Alpine, and is good enough)
Polk speakers

Subwoofer... tons of options. Alpine is not one of them. Well, not a good one. Not in performance, SQ OR value.

In my old third gen I had 2 kicker cvr12"s and a kicker kx1200.1 and it sounded great but pounded hard. I think a l7 12 on a zx750 would sound good in a stealth box

my 98z had alpine type r components front and coax rear, type s 10, and 2 alpine subs and i really liked it. For the amount of air space in an off the shelf stealth box you cant go crazy big on a sub. I liked the the amount of sub the type s had for the ridiculously bright(very harsh) type r's up front. I plan to do it again with my 01ss with a pdx 5, pg rsd speakers(haven tried before but cant beat the price and reviews), and type s 10 or spend money and go jlw3. This is a DD setup for me and for under a grand hard to beat. One of the MOST important things for any setup though is installation.. Proper sound deadening and and speaker placement are key. Good speaker + shitty install= bad sound. < cant remember where i saw that now but good advice

With the detail that you have already took on your car you obviously wont cut back on your system either. You will have to drop around 2k easy to put a nice set up together.

I would stick with one brand for cosmetic reasons. Wont sound better just looks better than having a Pioneer amp with 3 sony 10's. IMO. JL makes a 5 channel amp, not cheap, i think it runs around $800?? But having 1 amp will keep it nice and simple. Put a nice componet set in the ft doors. A 6.5 co-ax in the rear seat area and add a 12" to the stealth box maybe a W-3?? That should give you a nice sounding stereo that is done with quality products. Your choices are unlimited. Just remember your system is only as strong as its weakest link.
