You know, your system is really basic and nice... Two big *** kicker subs powered by a 1000w Kicker Amp.. That must be sooooooo loouud...

Personally I've never heard more then 400w in a car.. My last Amp and setup was a Kicker 300w amp and I am now just jumping up to a 800w sony amp in combination with my 500w 12" single kicker sub...

Questions if you don't mind?

My system is not fully wired up yet.. What should I expect with the upgrade (300-800w)? Oh, and should I be concerned about blowing out my back window with that kind of power output? My sub literally sits six inches from my rear back window, should I be concerned?

Any helpful hints would be appreciated... I really am rooking at this high level of car sound systems...

note - Love the Kicker Amps and subs, as they are always underated at factory and usually by a good margin.. OP - Your thousand Watt Kicker AMP is really probably like a 1200watt amp in comparisons to most others..

What is the RMS rating on your amp? Is it the GTR 6001?

I would be more concerned with it rattling you hatch loose than blowing out the window. back in the day I ran two sony explode 12s when the new shape came out and a 1000 watt sony amp in my 99TA and was fine. They hit pretty hard but I swear these kickers hit way harder.

It says Sony Xplod 800w amp 4 channels on the amp face.. Not sure about the RMS rating.. I'm hoping it's a good one, after all Sony usually makes solid electronics..

If its a 4 channel amp its designed to power speakers... but you could maybe run a sub off of it. What kind of Kicker sub are you going with? Comp, Comp VR, L series?

That's a good question, it looks just like the one in the first post picture. My kicker sub was rated at 500w and is 12"s.. I guess I should know more about my own setup.. Sorry...

Don't want to jack the thread either...Sorry OP, just got stuck with some questions as I am about to connect my setup as soon as tomorrow...Hope you don't mind?..

Custom stealth box from kee audio. Look on his site and there is a picture of my old T/A with a L7 in a stealth box.

If its like the one in the first post picture then its a Comp VR. Your Sony amp isn't going to be able to push it anywhere close to its potential, but if your happy with the setup that's all that matters.

Nice setup OP, heres my old setup with L5s.

For people asking about ttops, there is a slot below the subs that the ttops slide into, it holds them fine never had a problem with them moving around or getting scratched. I also never had an issue with rattling, i have more of it now with a single type r 10 in a stealth box...but thats changing soon.

Those are subthump ttop boxes, yes you still can store the ttops in the slot just below the subs.

I have a hell of a lot more speaker and amp and the hatch barely even rattles... Don't worry about your setup hurtin the window
