alarm help

alarm help does anyone know how to program an alarm. i tried the way that the owners manual says and it did not work. im really trying to prevent from going to the dealership. or if anyone knows where the main brain for the alarm is that would be helpful also
what year of car? is it a camaro? you can try google once you get that info.

The instructions in the owner's manual do work but you have to follow the steps exactly. A copy of the instructions is posted here.
What part are you having difficulty with or what are you trying to program?
BTW, the alarm "brain" is contained in the body control module (BCM) which handles many other functions as well (audible chimes, retained accessory power, power locks, hatch release, etc.).
