Question cd/mp3 player compat w/factory steering controls?

Anybody have or know of a quality in dash cd/mp3 unit for an 00 Firebird that WILL work with the factory steering controls?

you can get a transmitter that will let the steering wheel controls operate most headunits that come with a remote. I can't remember the name of it, but they sell them at Crutchfield. I have one that I never installed in my 98 Monte Carlo before trading it in on my Z28. I'd probably let it go for $50 shipped if you are interested. The only downside I saw w/this system is you need to mount the small light emitting source pointing at the headunit(like from the console or dome light, etc. It's tiny, but if you're totally against drilling holes or having a small wire hanging out this system is not for you.
