factory alarm keeps going off

Default factory alarm keeps going off

so i have a 2002 ss camaro and as of today when i get out of my car hit the lock button it honks twice lights flash then about ten to twenty seconds later the alarm will start going off. if anyone could plz help me that would be great!

Try resetting your settings on your alarm....do you have a manual? It gives instructions on how do do so.......If not...i could probably dig mine up for step by steps but please don't make me...lol

This is a fairly common problem usually caused by a faulty shock sensor. Unplug the shock sensor (on the right fenderwell in front of the spare tire) and see if the problem goes away. Then you can decide whether to buy a new sensor or just do without.

will the fob and everything still work? just the alarm wont?

Actually, even the alarm will still work - only the shock sensor won't work. The alarm will still arm and disarm as usual and will respond to any door being opened while armed. The thing you would have to worry about is somebody breaking a window - the shock sensor is what would normally pick that up but it won't be there.
