Default How do I change out this light?

This is for my Dad's '67 Pontiac Ventura. The dome light doesn't work and trying to replace it. But don't want to break the assembly trying to take it off.

Normally, that plastic diffuser is just held in with a couple tabs. If you look around where that diffuser meets the chrome trim, you should be able to see where the tabs are. Unfortunately, those diffusers get brittle with age and may crack when you try to remove it.

Dont worry if you break it there is new assemblies all over the net for less than 15 bucks just don't damage the wires in there.

Thanks. Don't suppose you could point me in the right direction. All I've been able to find is a stock replacement for the L. side view mirror.

Sometimes you find something similar in the HELP! isle at auto parts stores.
