Post Going on 15th fuse blown.

well i have a rockford fosgate 4guage wire running all the way down on my driver side. connected to a 1 farad capacitor. The 4 guage wire goes Straight to the capacitor. from there it does a Y to my alpine m500 amp and my DB drive amp 700 wat (4 channel). EVERY TIME i put new fuses in my DB drive amp and i put power threw the positive line IT BLOWS THEM. My M500 is not doing this. only my DB what can it be? bad ground? im getting ground from one of the rear light bolts. on the right side. any suggestions?

As soon as i touch the positive on the amp of corse negative connected already it blows the fuse.! should i reverse my actions and put the positive first then negative?

Please help i want to finish my set up tonight

What was the problem? Sounds like a short. Probably incorrect/crossed wiring or a damaged component.

Follow the wires to make sure everything is connected properly and that the wires aren't damaged.

Yea I've put a trim screw through a couple wires before when I first setup my system. And it would blow a fuse every time. Just check and make sure all the wring is intact.

im thinking it the amo
ive even removed the amp and tried a direct shot from my bat to the amp and as soon as both wires touch there terminals it blows them away.

would a broken amp do that?
blow all the fuses as soon as you apply power to it?

Yes, a blown amp will blow fuses for sure.
