Default Thinking of eDead...Worth it?

I have 1 chamber flows dumped under the rear axle (head/cam) and I am wanting to get it "quieter" inside the car. The bass from the Ed subs sounds great when the car is off but once the car is started it basically goes away. Will the eDead help with this and get rid of the ashtray rattle and interior vibrations or is it not worth it?

Hello

Thanks for your interest in Second Skin!
Damplifier Lite is a great product but for a TA, you will need more.

I would go the route of our SPL tiles.
get a box of 80 tiles, which is 28 lbs, and patch them in the car all around the sheet metal. This will do an awesome job at absorbing the structure borne noise and will kill the drum effect inside the car.
The next layer you can di is our Luxury Liner Pro, but this is 1.15 lbs psf, and your TA will need about 60-70 sq feet. So that one will get heavy.
A light weight option would be our Heat Wave Pro. This is a very popular material for gusy that are trying to reduce heat and noise. Putting it on top of the SPL Tiles is a great way to accomplish your goals without adding much weight at all.

Feel free to call me with any questions:

I will be happy to set aside some time to discuss your project further.

Do not use edead, especially since you're in a warmer climate. It melts and makes a mess. Use something else like second skin or dynomat.

Just editing out my joke I will give Edead the benefit of doubt. Maybe my experience was with early edition product. I will still pimp the Second Skin Damplifier Pro though! Very effective product!

Go with Second Skin products or Dynamat Xtreme. I have both on my doors and will be using only Second Skin on the rest of the car.

Mine has stayed put but has turned in to a gooey mess in places, especially where the spare tire goes. This is in Maryland and after my car had to sit in the driveway a couple summers ago. (Garage was full of kids stuff) It's tar based and will melt.

I used Second Skin Damplifier in my truck. If that's too pricey for you, go with RAAMat. That's the only "economy" sound deadener I would consider buying. All the other stuff is cheaper because it's thinner and uses lower quatlity materials. You get what you pay for.

I did a ridiculous, over the top sound deadening install. One of the reasons for it was exhaust noise. In sixth gear at around 2k RPM or lower there is a very deep, constant noise which is annoying and makes sixth gear sort of useless because I have to go over 80MPH to make the noise bearable. Even after the sound deadening, the noise deep tones are still too much but everything else is very quiet. Also it made my sound system sound a lot better.

If you care to look at what I did, you can see it here and here.

I used eDead after a lot of research and have had no problems with it. Older stuff was an asphalt product and that is the reason for most complaints. The current product is butyl like Second Skin and RAAMat.

Luxury Liner will do more for road noise than mat. I had RAAMMat and TWO layers of LL in my Camaro. That thing had no road noise coming through the floor.

That's like the eDead V4 Teklite I used, only the V4 is self adhesive which I think was easier to use. I couldn't imagine putting more the one layer of that on because I had a hard time getting some panels to go back on with just one layer.

I only did the LL under the floor. The doors only had RAAMMat and some Second Skin sludge. They still let noise in, though not as much as stock. The car went back together easily, just that I needed to press down really hard to get the bolts for the center console to hook (I made the holes through the LL first but it was still a pain).
