Alarm light?

Alarm light? I bought this car used. Is the little red light beside the vent part of the factory alarm, or did someone add this?
The reason I am asking is because other TA's don't seem to have it.

I've got one in that general location on my car. It was put in aftermarket. Stupid guys didn't think to use the factory LED.
Like said above, the factory one is in the vent grille on the dash pad.
