Exclamation Monsoon Wiring

How can I keep the full 8 speaker stereo with an Alpine CDA-9885 head unit?

Just get a wiring harness adapter so that the new head unit will plug into the factory harness, plug it in and it will work.

Please read the Monsoon FAQ sticky at the top of the forum - it has lots of information about upgrading Monsoon systems.

Is there a direct plug and play or will I have to do some splicing as the only ones I seem to find you have to splice.

there used to be direct plugs carried by circuit city. metra made them exclusively for them, but since going out of business i dont believe metra makes them anymore. you will just need a metra 1858 harness and butt connect or solder your radio harness color for color.

Is that something that I will need? Seems like that would keep the monsoon system and the wiring for the 8 speaker stereo and not just going down to 4 when I hook up my Alpine unit.
