Default speaker or crossover?

On my Driver side front speaker, it cuts in and out. Sometimes just the tweeter will work, sometimes just the midbass will work, sometimes none of them work, and sometimes it works perfectly. I've tried redoing all the wiring in the door because all the old ones were old and had residue all over but changing them didnt help. When i was doing that i noticed a little water on the crossover so im thinking that may be the problem. The speakers have no visible damage on them. I was just wondering if there was a way to test whats wrong before i buy new speakers for no reason. my driver side window also leaks and I think the water is getting into the door because on the driver side, the window motor is completely dead and all the wires looked like they have been exposed to water, whereas my passenger side door, the window works fine, and the wires look brand new even thoguh theyre pretty old.

Since both the tweeter and midbass are going out seperately, I would say its either a combination of more than 1 wire being loose, or the crossovers. It deffinately isn't the tweeter/midbass.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing. it sucks though because if I rule out the loose wires, and the crossover is dead, I can't seem to find a place that just sells the crossover.
