On the HUmounts, how are the LEDs wired and illuiminated? Are they switched or on all the time?

You can wire them to the orange or brown (can't remember exactly) for Power and then to the black for ground. If you wire it up you can have it dimmable with the interior lights and will only be switch on when the lights are on. Very easy to install and looks awesome.

It is a standard 12v light, i have mine wired to the stereo ignition power lead with a toggle switch, so it comes on with the stereo and i can turn it off at will.

I am attempting to install a new one in my car today. I had a pioneer before, and the new one is a newer, nicer pioneer so I am hoping that it will go smoothly... but I havent tried this before

Does anyone have that common kenwood reciever installed that glows blue and has the usb? I think its one of their lower end ones, but i was thinking about getting it for mine.

Edit: quick google search, something like this? I guess this is their newer one but i was thinking the model before this one

Jensen VM9022, currently not 100% visually, 100% functioning thou.

and apparently I'm an idiot and can't get the Pictures to post. If you check out the Stereo album under my profile you'll see it.

Yeah I just had that in my 93 bonneville before I sold it. It was a real nice head unit for 160 bucks off crutchfield. It was a slightly different model, mp438u. Im not sure if the oine you posted is newer or older, but mine had the aux right next to the usb input. It's a lot cheaper now I think like around 130.

Default Sony HU w/Sirius

I actually hate this Sony HU. It's a Sony CDX-GT610UI which I bought for the iPod connection but it doesn't interface with the iPod very well. You have to go forward through each song instead of being able to scroll to a specific song. I just use the aux in now and control the iPod directly.

New LS1 (yeah, I know it looks like the same one above but this is a different car/hu!) Self installed.

Kenwood KDC-MP345U. Sirius Sportster with Panavise mount. Metra faceplate. Much better than the previous Sony

@ cheap guy, wish i woulda seen that sooner, i have the 700 or 740 w/e it is so it may be a little different being the model up. I had the same problem and was pretty disappointed at first but then found if you press the mode button or something you can change the ipod control to scroll through either on the deck or the ipod. Ive had it since my last post on here and lovin it

Kenwood eXcelon KRC-X858. It's kinda old (10 years), and is a cassette unit but I do have a CD/MP3 changer, and a satellite radio as well. Still works really well and sounds great, and matches the red Pontiac lights perfectly!

Pioneer 3200ub

Has everything I wanted except for SD card capability. Ended up buying a mini 8gb sd card, and a compact reader that is barely big enough to notice when it's in the usb slot.

My other main gripe was that I wanted a stereo that didn't have those ugly old style display/text readout. I wanted text that looked smooth and not all blocky.

Equalizer is also great. Can also change between red backlit display, and a green display.

Pics are pretty bad right now, can't take a decent picture in the dark and flash, so I'll put up some daylight ones tomorrow.
