Alpine head unit

Alpine head unit I'm looking for an Alpine HU with direct Ipod connectivity. I found the Alpine CDE-102 and the Alpine CDE-103bt... What is the difference between these two units since their price is about $80 different? Also if someone has one of these I'd like some feedback on it if you wouldn't mind!
I read up on that unit and it looks real nice, however one of the biggest complaints from people is it doesn't have a "Mute" button or feature. Thought this was pretty odd and sucks not having that ability. Anybody on here have experience with the 305 in their cars?

Well, yes and no. They don't have a "mute" button on the front panel, but if you hook up your steering wheel controls with the PAC SWI-JACK and set it up, you WILL have your mute feature. At least that's how it works on my IDA-X100. Also, if you want bluetooth and have the KCE-400BT module, it will also mute the audio when you get a call. Make sense?

I would assume that it does, but I don't have the remote, so I can't say for sure. There is also a mute lead that comes out of the wiring harness on the back that you can connect to your cell phone (not sure how), but you might be able to wire a switch to that or something. Plus if you are playing your iPod on it, you can always hit pause. I do that a lot.
Be advised though, that the mute function on the Alpine is not a true "mute." It drops the audio level down quite a bit (enough to get the job done), but it doesn't completely drop out the audio.

I've got the old IDA-x001, the grand-daddy of the 305, and I'm very happy with it. The "mute" reduces the sound output, but doesn't completely mute it. I use the play/pause button to "mute", although this doesn't work for the radio which I almost never use anyway.
