Default Door Speakers 62.7i Not Avail

Im the newb asking all the newb questions this week lol. Anyways Got a bone stock 2k2 SS with 9500 miles on the clock. I blew the Monsoon door speakers. From all of my Search button usage came to the conclusion that I would need some Infinity 62.7i's. Well they are discontinued, what else have people been using in leiu of those speakers. And how did you install them. I do not want to go cutting and hacking the car and would like a LKQ replacement. I dont thing wasting my money on OEM again is a good idea.

there are a ton of options for a 6 1/2 component set. A lot of people get a speaker package from Kee audio, who is a sponsor on this site. Ian is a good guy and will answer any question you have about replacing parts of your sound system. Personally I just picked up a set of Boston SX60's for 130 bucks.

How was the Boston install? Were they prettly close to plug and play? Where did you mount the tweeter? Did you use the crossover? Run off the monsoon amp okay? I saw Kee audios site but Im not interested in a whole package right now and also not a fan of Bazooka brand.

Just ordered them so I havent got them yet. Nor do I still have any monsoon equipment still in the car. Install should be pretty straight forward, just pull the door panel off. My Firebird had 6.5 components from the the factory so there is already a location in the door panel for the tweeters. I should have them installed by the end of next week but they will be just running off my headunit for right now. And i do have the Bazookas in the sail panel, they are ok. Not a big fan of Bazooka either but they were already in the car when I bought it, and they work so I havent bothered to replace them yet.

Any info how you wired them? I read that they are quite a bit different from the 62.7i

for the door speakers i cant exactly remember which wires i hooked up to the speakers because the stock connectors have 4 wires while the speakers only need two, but to figure out which one is positive and negative for the speaker take a 9v battery and connect the leads if the speaker pushes out then its positive if it sucks it in then its negative.

Unfortunately they dont all have the best track record in reference to their customer reviews.

If you want the speakers and you pay with paypal what is the problem? They're just speakers. I have them in my car and I read that people did not like them but I love them, so I don't believe everything I read and half of what I see. Life lessons. I guess the question is do you really want these speakers or you can pay much more and get some nice compareable speakers from Kee Audio, or so i read.

Contact Kee Audio (a sponsor here) for information on CDT replacements. They are component sets that are coaxially mounted like the factory ones so installation is a breeze. They are reasonably priced and sound great.
