Default Viper smart start via iPhone

Has anyone Tried this system yet?

Background Info: Its a module that works with compatible viper alarms.
Instead of using a traditional remote, you can start the car, lock and unlock doors with an IPhone or Itouch.

Any one that has installed it for a customer maybe?

Looking for first impressions, pros and cons on it.

Thanks

I have it in my 99 T/A. I love the dayum thing!!! Hasn't never failed me once. Visual commands right on the phone for all the features.

The only thing I haven't tested is the Alerts.

I have the compatible alarm already in my truck, just haven't added the smartstart module yet. But it wont be long.

Total price for Viper Alarm, Keyless Entry, and Smart Start was $745.

How long did the install take?

Can the phone app control other things like windows and such.

Video demo If you don't mind please.

Thanks!

I will get some video tomorrow for you.

Installed professionally along with a Parrot MK9100 Bluetooth, Pioneer AVIC N2 fold out Navi system, and rear view camera was a little over 7 hours.

The app can not control windows at this time, it will do the trunk though. I am sure in time this app will continue to get better and have more features. Although the window feature is extra during install.

Sounds like very good combo bro.

The app will definitely grow as time goes.

I 'm wondering if it's possible to control my convertible top with one of the viper alarms, even though it's not possible with this app.

I am excited, my viper 5101 is here and I'm just waiting for the smart start module to get here.

Again I appreciate it.

You are absolutely right, the top has to be unlatched before it can be operated.

I am just looking for the top to be controlled so I Can open/close it given that i left it unlatched.

Given scenerio if I leave the top down, i want to be able to control it from inside the house instead of going back out again to put it up. Later latch it if I want to drive with top up or lock it for the day.

I have the smart start on my truck. I have the viper5901 with the smart start add on.

Install is only a few extra wires. And a few minutes to register it.

I have installed about 10 of them already for customers

Do you still have to use the ignition key like a traditional after market remote start, even if the VATS is bypassed?
