Default 12v switched connections

I'm having a hell of a time getting my shift light to flash. Where else can I get a 12v switched connection other than the pink wire behind the ASR/TCR switch? It's not working there for some strange reason.

Check page 6-66 of your owner's manual - the slot you are looking for for 12V switched is directly to the left of position 13 (STG WHL CNTRL), and is labeled "IGN". All you have to do is use a standard spade connector - just push it in that slot (along with a wire crimped to it), and that wire will become your switched 12V source for whatever you want.

that IGN location will not have power all of the time will it? i don't want that to drain the battery when the car is not running.

Only when the key is in the ON position.

...that's why it's called IGN. There is also a constant power outlet in the fuse panel labeled BATT.
