To pillar mount CDT premium tweeters or not to?

To pillar mount CDT premium tweeters or not to?
I got the CDT premium system and I've gotten the hatch speakers and the sail panel speakers installed. I am going to get the front components wired in hopefully tomorrow if the weather permits. I have been going over and over the threads trying to decide if I want to drill out my A-pillar and flush mount my tweeter. I can't decide at this point if I want to or not. So I'll leave it up to a poll for people who have done it or just think it's a good idea or not. My mount would be near the front of the dash where it is most out of the way. If I don't then I will be mounting it as our cars normally come. Now lets see if I can get a poll to show up

well i have mine in the a-pillars my compset is a set of uper end cdt mids,mb quart tweets and x-overs.
the tweets in my set are huge dome tweets and they fit just fine and before that i had the standard size tweets and it sounded good.
in a camaro there is no stock location for the tweets they are a coaxial in the doors so where else where you thinking of mounting them?

I would mount them in the stock location but aim them up. That's one benefit of having the CDT's is that even though they are mounted coaxially you can aim them a bit.
See what you think of that first as you can always mount them elsewhere later if your not satisified.
Another consideration is to mount them by the mirrors using tweeter pods.

I agree. Put them in the stock location, and see how you like them (also adjusting the direction). If they are not good enough, you can always tape them in the spot on the A piller and see how they sound, before you drill.

Go redneck all the way.. in fact, I heard somewhere that if you punch ergonomically correct sound-boosting holes in your speaker cones, it gives you concert-quality sound.
Seriously though, I installed mine in the stock location and pointed the tweeters up... very happy with the tweeters. Other parts of my system is another story.

I didn't have to remove anything other than the a-pillar, kick panel, and the panel below the dash. I used double sided tape and put the cross over behind the glove box. Kinda hard to put it in there with the glove box in, but do-able. You won't need the crossover though if your using the stock Monsoon amp.

I was actually referring to the passenger side. On the driver side, you might have to remove both of the panels. Its not hard at all though.

The m... SMART PEOPLE here are doing tweeters on their A-pillars bouncing off of the windshield and other stu... err, SMART things like that. My G8 has tweeters mounted nothing like what people here do. Also, yes, the G8 tweeter location is a bit bad. Don't use stock cars to argue about good practices for car audio because we should all know how little car makers REALLY know/care about audio.
