I would steer away from the Mb quartz. There are a lot better quality amps IMHO. But that's just my .02

Why? Seems like all the review like them. You got any suggestion in my price range? I do have my eye on a couple US Amps, don't think they will sell for what I need them to though.also eyeing this http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-MRP-M500-...item20aff929f4

For starters most "cheaper" amplifiers claim false power ratings. The power rating of the MB quartz amplifier in the ebay link claims 600W x 1 @ 4ohms. This is most likely the peak power the amp can possibly put out at 4 ohms. And if I'm not mistaken the RE SE 10 is a dual 4 ohm voice coil. This means that when you run the voice coils in parallel the Ohm load will drop to 2ohms. (http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf...4-ohm_mono.jpg)

That means at peak power the MB Quartz will push 300 watts. When your sub calls for 600 watts RMS.

I would suggest an amp more along the lines of say the kicker 750.1 Kicker makes quality products and don't inflate their power ratings much like the cheaper brands. My kicker 750.1 came with a birth sheet that said the amp actually make around 900 watts of peak power. So even though Kicker only claims 750 watts as peak at 2 ohms (not 4), it can handle a little more.

This place is an authorized Kicker refurb dealer and I've had nothing but great business dealing with them.

I know this is a little out of your budget, but in the long run you will have an amp that actually powers your sub to it's potential and not overheat or exhaust itself in the first few months.

I don't mean to be pushy on this topic, just my .02

Thanks for the info.According to the site, that is 600rms,not peak.I can get the SE in a D2 also.

The amp is still going to have to be at 100% full power just to power the RMS power range of the sub. But you could always upgrade to a larger amp down the road.

Damn collier341,I see what you're saying now,my bad.Getting an amp with higher output would mean that the amp would not have to run at full tilt to keep the sub going at the recommended wattage. With one at the sub wattage the amp would constantly be trying to keep up?

Exactly.

And going back to my previous post.. a lot of the lower end amp's fabricate their numbers a little bit so you'd have the amp running full power and still probably not putting down the numbers they claim.

No problem man. Keep us posted on what you end up going up with.

I would keep that kicker in mind tho. For 50-60 bucks more you're getting a quality product from an authorized dealer with a wiring kit that would cost you around $30 bucks anyways.

The MB is actually a great amp for the price. There aren't many amps out there that will be able to give him the power he needs to run the RE in his price range. It is well respected on other audio forums as well. I do agree with the Kicker recommendation, but that is way out of his budget, despite the great price on it. I've never seen a price that low on it. Great resource that I didn't know about.

Another option is to keep your eye on the classifieds of diyma and ca. I don't really think that it's necessary to buy an amp new.
