Default LED Light Question

I just have a simple question. With LED replacement lights, are more LEDs better then less?

I'm specifically looking at the replacement lights for the tail lights, 3057. I've been looking at a few pages with lights for sale, but I'm unsure what I should get. I see that there are LED lights with 12 LEDs that have an output of 7 watts, then I see LEDs with 60 LEDs, and 48 LEDs, these do not list light output. Can someone please explain to me which has more light output, or which would be better suited for the tail lights? I would like a little more light output then stock, if possible. Thanks.

They sell direct replacements that have all the calculations done at superbrightleds dot com they just plug in to the stock outlet.

I know they have direct replacements. I'm asking, is more better in the case of LED replacement bulbs?

IE, is 3157 with 60 LEDs brighter then a light with 48 LEDs? Or, is the light with a light output of 7 watts, but only with 12 LEDs brighter?

The light output is what makes the difference. I've tried the 48-LED replacement bulbs and they are nowhere near as bright or effective as the 7-watt bulbs with fewer LEDs. Check out v-leds.com for some really bright replacement bulbs.

Is there any way to determine what the light output is with the 48 and 60 LED lights?

Most either say just how many lights. I've only found a few that say what the light output is, which was 7w.

There 2 different things to consider
1) More LEDs
2) Brighter LEDs
Preferably, you want both.
There are some cheaper units that use a higher number of dimmer LEDs. You want the brightest for the money. Which specific units were you considering? Maybe one of us will recognize them and have a recommendation.

I wasn't sure I could post who it was, since they're not a sponsor. But they're the 7 watts bulbs from autolumination. It seems they have some pretty high quality bulbs, as well as a decent cost.

That's a new one to me. I was thinking of the one below that on the list. The one you're looking at is a new one and should be brighter.

Just make sure to get the same color LED as the lens its going behind.

Get the red version.

Basically, get the same color LED as the lens that you are going to put them behind.
