Default before i ruin a new set of speakers

I just bought a set of Alpine SPS-600's to replace the stock speakers in the doors. (2002 Camaro coupe) I've gone through the right ups, but just wanted to make sure i was clear on everything. the 'stickies' on how to install the speakers are about 5 years old and i'm not sure what, if anything, has changed on the speakers. I have clipped the original wiring harness from the stock speaker and have labled the poitive and negative of both the speaker and tweeter. here is a picture of the new alpine.

From what i understand, i de-solder the wire from the capacitor to the positive terminal and solder it to the positve tweeter wire on the original harness.
Then de-solder the negative tweeter wire from negative terminal and solder it directly to the negative wire of the original harness.
Finally solder the positive speaker wire of the harness to the positive terminal and the negative speaker wire of the harness to the positive terminal.

I'm not the best with wires, so I want to make sure I get this right...the first time. Thanks for the help!

I did the same thing a few months ago and it's how I did mine. For the final step,I just used the connectors. Finally solder the positive speaker wire of the harness to the positive terminal and the negative speaker wire of the harness to the positive terminal. I'm assuming you mean negative?
