Separating bass signals?

Separating bass signals? In my old 97 I had an Alpine amp and sub, but as of now it's not hooked up to my new car. Just the CD Player. Those familiar with the bass settings on Alpine head units, I've always liked the bass best at Bass:3, but now that I've been listening to a stock stereo system, Bass:3 setting is too much bass for the stock midbasses. I listen to the stock sterero on Bass:0 setting, sometimes 1.
When I hook up my amp and sub, is there away I could keep my stock midbass speakers at say Bass:0, and have my sub running Bass:3 levels? Thanks.

what kind of alpine HU is it?? Alpine has a sub level and a bass level setting...is that what you are talking about??....tho..what you could do to keep some bass in your speakers is not turn the hpf (high pass filter) up all the way...thats what takes the bass away from your speakers

Hmm.. i see how the HPF works.. I've never messed around with it before so I was unfamiliar with it. I can see how it will work for me!.. So this won't reduce bass to the sub right?

no not at all...its actually supposed to help the sub because you really dont need the bass in the speakers but i kno theres people out there who want some bass in the speakers...my father is the same way with his system...you will notice tho...that adjusting the bass setting does have an affect on the sub..my bass setting is at like -3 to like -5....and one thing i try to stay by is..i always have the treble atleast two ahead of the bass..unless theres more needed...for example..if my bass is at -3 ill put my treble at -1...but anyways..thats a good headunit...i actually have it in my 4runner and my camaro has the cda-105..pretty much the same one but they changed the model numbers up and some features

I had the CDA-9884 in my old 97 (pretty much same thing). Ran Sub at like +10 IIRC, bass +3, and Treble +2. It sounded great, but the +3 on the midbasses sounded like too much
I messed around with the HPF with Bass +3 and 80hz HPF, it definitely lowered the bass a bunch. I'll have to mess around with those settings when I get the sub back in..
BTW I was running an Alpine 500w amp, and Alpine Type R 10". It should be back in this car this summer I hope.
