Default Guages not working

Whats up folks? did some runs yesterday morning, car ran good... When I got in to go to work, my instrument cluster is acting like it has a bad ground...

Fuel, Temp, Tach & Speedo reading = 0 all the time
Odometer will not come on - no light or numbers
Guage light turns on and the seatbelt light illuminates.

The driver side kickpanel ground is in tact, not loose, has two wires off it.
Driver side rear head has those grounds in tact as well, nice and snug.

Windows roll down just fine. Key in ignition make chime with door open - but sometimes, car will not start when the driver door is open...

I'm at work now and was able to check the grounds and fuses, I'm planning on checking out the BCM in the mornign, and take a peak on the passenger side kickpanel ground point... I just want my guages back so I can go play

i did some hard runs in the morning, and park on a 15% or so incline, could a burned o2 wire cause this ****? I'm running LT's and ORY.

You've ended up checking a lot of things that are completely unrelated to your gauges. The ground for the cluster isn't under the dash - it's attached to the rear of the left cylinder head. I know you've checked there as well but I'm not surprised that it's okay. That same ground is used by the PCM, fuel pump relay, MAF sensor, and cruise control along with the instrument cluster. A bad ground there would be causing you a lot more headaches than just gauges.

The BCM doesn't do anything except warning lights in the cluster... no connection to the gauges. So there's no point in checking there.

I suspect that your GAUGES fuse is blown. Never rely on a visual inspection of fuses. They can be blown but look fine and they tend to become susceptible to breaking as they get old. Always check with a tester or by replacing with a known good fuse.

If that isn't the cause then I would check the connector on the back of the cluster to make sure it is firmly seated.

Thanks for the reply WhiteBird00, from the doc's I've been able to find the instrument cluster is ground on the head & kick panel... I'll replace the guages fuse and see if I can make some progress.

Check out this vid, of how its acting up on me..

The first time I try to crank, is with the door open - you'll see how it just don't do nothin
Second crank, is successful - but with door closed, then I turn it off... Open door, crank again and it starts, but no cluster... wtf? idk

FWIW, when I unplug GUAGES fuse, and plug it back in with the ignition on, I can hear electrical clicking action going on... but no reaction on cluster... gonna have to wait to get home to check cluster connections I guess.
