+1 for an Escort Passport or mid to upper Beltronics. I've got a Bel RX65, but its only used on trips since I work close to home. Use some common sense and don't be the fastest one around and it'll help you out. It's saved me more than once in situations where I'm being passed and the passing car gets pulled.

BTW, if I had unlimited money I'd own a Valentine. Check out their hidden mounts.

+1. Only time I've been pulled over speeding is when they pace me which is B.S. because I was in a group of cars that are going the same speed and I have a fast looking car.

I've been saved quite a few times with my V1 and so have my friends.

If money is no object, then the Bel sti-R is the one to get. It's kicking the crap out of everything. Even the V1. And Im a V1 fanatic. But they run over a grand. But for the money V1 is the way to go in the 4-500 dollar range.

it only takes one ticket to beat that. Especially in states like Virginia. I wish i paid $1k for a radar detector that day instead of lawyers and fines.

I've got an escort 8500 x50 and man its saved me many times by picking the cop up almost a mile away. I swear by it, but that's just my opinion.

I have a V1 and Passport 8500 X50. Both great radars, no question. I prefer the V1, but I still love the hell outta the 8500. Spend the money and get a proven quality product, weather its Beltronics, Valentine, Escort, etc.
