JL Audio 10w6 Concern

i just recently bought and installed this sub. everything works great, a few days go by and then i notice a small crack in the big plastic piece that covers the middle of the sub. is this something i should really be concerned about down the road? or would it be worth the hassle of trying to send it back and exchange it? it was bought brand new but not from an authorized dealer and i also have the original box and paperwork and the original shipping box. first pic is the sub itself and then the second pic is a closeup of the crack.

I would see if you can return it. While it may be small that sub is capable of alot of energy and the crack may get worse as time goes on. Better safe then sorry.

Ya x2 on exchange, the W6 has a hell of an excursion rate and usually the foam will need to be replaced so I could see that crack getting bigger over time. Re-cone kits for that sub is not worth it either cuz you can buy a new sub for the price of the kit.

well i called and asked and they have a 14 day return policy starting from the day it was shipped. i ended up being outside that range. i guess my next option is to take it by the local jl dealer and see what they tell me which i doubt will be satisfactory.

Call around and see if places can recone the sub, and contact the original place you bought the sub (if a local place) and see if they can help out since it's still new.
