Default Steering Wheel Controls / Air Bag

I just put long tube headers on my car and when the steering linkage was disconnected my 4 year old thought she would practice driving and next thing i know she had my sterring wheel spun who knows how many times and since then the Air Bag light has been on and my steering wheel buttons dont work. Did the wires get snapped or is there something else wrong? What should i check to trouble shoot this?

Thanks Jim

Nope - broken clockspring. Expensive to buy, but not extremely hard to replace.

Here is a writeup on how to replace it:

The controls don't work and airbag light is on cause you don't have anymore signal/power going thru the clock spring.

Figure out where the break is. You may be able to fix the clock spring you do have now. The problem is definitely in its circuit, though.
