Help with Autometer DPSS tach..
Help with Autometer DPSS tach.. I'm hoping this is where I should post this, but anyways, got the new dpss Autometer tach for my birthday and I'm a little confused on hooking it up.
On the searches here, I have found people saying the tach signal wire goes to pin10. On Autometers sight, it says pin 35 of blue connector on PCM, using white wire. I know someone on here has hooked up one similar to this and can help me out. I really just want to get it right the first time. BTW, I already know that you have to hook it up on the 4 cylinder settting.

Autometer's site info is correct, for your (1998) car. The 99-02 cars wiring is white #10.

Thanks alot man, I'm no mechanic so I really need all the help I can get. I understand that each pin has a number. My buddy said that one said may be "dead". I just figured I could splice into the wire and that should be ok.. Am I correct about that??

It is not dead, it feeds your Tach on your instrument cluster. So unless your PCM is fried and you have no tach signal then maybe.
Just follow those directions on that link I posted earlier and you'll be good to go. To splice into it you can use a T-Clip like this:
...or you can cut into it and solder all back together.
