Power antenna help....
Ok. Just got off the phone with2 of my local GM parts dept. During winter here in Illinois a sheet of ice came off the car and killed my antenna half way up. I am looking for a stock replacement. Dont care if i have to buy the whole thing or not. The local parts guys want $212.00 for a power antenna unit. I dont think that will happen everrrrr. Any help would be awesome. Thank you.

Did you do a search? If you search for antenna mast replacement, you should find a thread with the GM P/N. You should be able to get one online in the neighborhood of $35-40.

if your antenna is still raised halfway, why not try to pull the old antenna mast out? all you have to do is unscrew the little cap on it, have someone inside the car turn on the radio which should force the antenna up and pull it out. you can get a new mast for $23 shipped on ebay. even if you can't get all the gear out, you can break a few of the pop rivots that hold the plastic cap on the motor and pull off the cap and then pull out the first little plastic resouivuar which will have your broken gear in it. put it all back together and put in the new mast. i just did all this on my stock 16 year old motor which had a broken mast on it when i got it in 2004, at that time i put in a new mast but didn't break the motor open to get the old one out so it didn't go all the way down, a friend of mine and i fixed that last summer but then i stupidly broke the mast a few weeks ago so i had to get the new mast to fix it. it works perfectly now.
