Default Monsoon Subwoofer Question.

My factory subs are toast. Unless someone is looking to sell me a set of there stock ones cheep I intent to put a set of the Kicker 6.5 subs in. As this is in a SS I found that they are 2 ohm just like the originals. Anyone see an issue with using these?

Kicker CVT15 CVT 15 Inch Subwoofer 2 Ohm

The Kicker Comp VT subwoofers are designed to work in tight spaces with only minimal mounting depth possible. The CVTs provide about the same amount of bass as the CVRs but with about half the mounting depth.

Have you searched or read the sticky on this? Depending on the type of radio and type of car you have, you could be heading to a very bad place with this choice...

They are 2ohm but they also are shallow mount and like most shallow mount subs they lack bass. Even a 4ohm sub sounds better then those Kickers and make more bass. They have almost no xmax...linear excursion because of the nature of the way those are made. The cone is moved forward to allow for less depth which also takes away from bass output to an extent. I am not a fan of them at all. I have access to them as well...I just don't use them since there are better options in the same price range.
Everyone seems to get too caught up with the impedance of these speakers instead of reading what has been used successfully by other members.
