Do these speakers plug into the factory connector or do you have to splice into the wires?

You have to wire the factory plug to the new speaker.

Are the Bazookas any good? It's hard to find replacements for the stock a 6.5" subwoofer. I'm going to buy a cheap set from a local vender, and have him repair the originals while I use them.

Any way, I'm good with a soldering iron, so I'm going to swap the plugs.

What are the options using these speakers in a non-monsoon car? Can they just replace the stock ones are will the stock head unit not power them enough?

Do they come with a wiring harness where I can splice the cars wires together? Reason why I ask is because I have cut off the factory connectors and have them butt spliced to another set of speakers. I want to know exactly what I have to do before I get the speakers.

Just do search here for bazooka install and you will see a bunch if install info and pics to know what you will need to do.

This is for speakers only
Thanks

If it truly is a base audio system (unusual for a Z/28) then the Bazooka subs would not work well. The base audio system has only four full-range speakers - doors and sail panels. You can use just about any full-range or coaxial 6.5" speakers as replacements. But check first that you don't have small speakers in the hatch area - that's the easiest way to recognize a Monsoon system.

Ok, so I do have speakers in the hatch area. I guess this means I have the Monsoon with the stock amp? My head unit doesn't say Monsoon so I always thought it was base.

There really isn't anything special about the "Monsoon" head unit - it's just a standard Delco radio like those used in dozens of other GM models. Some had the Monsoon label, some didn't. You can check for the UZ7 option code on your door sticker to confirm you have the 8-speaker Monsoon system.

Anyone running an aftermarket amp with these? Been thinking about buying a little amp to send some power to my front components that I havent installed yet + some power to the existing bazookas I'm running.

I did in a 2005 GTO install
The GTO has 6.5 subs in back window and we used a 5 channel amp on the install.
Worked out really nice

I got a pair of these for my birthday to replace the blown stockers. The previous owner of my TA had a Kenwood fold out dvd player installed. Anyway, its been a very long time since Ive heard the stock monsoon sail panel speakers, but it seems like these arent even noticable. If I really crank it up, then I can hear them. But at low volume levels, all I hear is a lot of highs. Very little, to any bass. This is with the bass turned all the way up on the Kenwood Eq. Anything else I can do to get some bass to the system, short of installing an aftermarket amp? Thanks in advance.

Second question/issue. If I adjust the fade to the rear just a little bit, is it taking away from the subs as well and giving more sound to the rear fillers? Or, is it taking sound away from just the door panel speakers? Right now I have it a R4, I just want to make sure that im not taking away from the sail panel subs.
