Another Stealthbox Question.

Another Stealthbox Question. Well, I'm starting to lean more towards using my stealthbox. My question is. What's the baddest 10" speaker I can use in it. From what I gathered on JL's site it looks to be around .65 cubic ft.

No amp as of yet. I'm still really open for ideas. I personally LOVE Kicker L7's. There has to be some way of flattening the front of the box in order to make a new hole for a square...

I just looked at the box. I don't see why I couldn't modify it to fit the kicker speaker. Since mine is raw plastic, I could make a round piece to fit into where the current cutout location is. Then seal it. Basically making the box completely closed. From there I could cut a new hole in the flat front for the square.
Oh you have the unloaded plastic enclosure. Man I wish they didnt make that one its so crappy compared to the fiberglass loaded enclosure. You could probably make a trim ring to accomidate it but I really dont recommend using that plastic enclosure. It flexes to much(lost energy) and acoustically is not a good enclosure.

Well, I just got back from my shop. I made some templates to see if it would even be possible to fit a L7 in the prefab box. No good. So now it looks like I need to find a really good round 10.

I would look into the Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 or 10.1d, the stealthbox is the perfect size enclosure for them. I have the 12.1's and they definately pound. I looked into a stealth box once before and I had numerous people recommend these subs for the box. Although, the JL audio 10W3V2 would be an excellent choice, if you look at the details for the infinitys I think you will like them better. When I compared the two subs I noticed that the sensitivity in the Infinity is 94db while the JL's is 85db. The infinity also has an aluminum cone to produce stiffer bass, and also operates at a lower frequency (18mhz) than the JL (28 mhz) which means deeper notes. All of this for a smaller price tag.
