2 12's in the trunk...suggestions?
You guys seem to be pretty adamant on that single twelve...i have never seen/heard one in person in an f-body so it may be great. I found a deal on 2 memphis audio 12's with a 1200w mono amp that i picked up yesterday so I'll hang on to that for a few months at least. Kee Audio....I will contact you about a 15" set up in a few months...thanks for the help man
WOW that is a good looking box. That would definately be flush. These memphis speakers are hitting pretty hard so I think im going to just make a box for them and hold on the them for a while. then im gonna hit up key audio for a 15" and see what we can do with that. My alpine head unit does have a seperate control for bass and subwoofer but with subwoofer maxxed at 15...i have to use the bass setting to adjust it from there and that unfortunately affects all speakers. With my ten i was having to turn up the bass eq to high to get enough sub which in turn made my speakers distort. I upgraded to some rockford punch's in the doors and took out the 6.5's in the sail panel that act as subs. Sounds MUCH better

It is common for me to go to car shows often and I always see $30,000.00-$60,000.00 custom hot rods with a $30.00 Jenson radio in them. I am not saying go spend $300.00 on a radio but damn...
Omg I went to the SAME car show when it was in Milwaukee and saw the same things. Beautiful cars with thousands invested rocking K mart audio equipment. I just don't get it... You can get really high quality audio at very affordable prices in this day and age with ebay, craigslist, forums, and vendors like yourself. The box you sold me for $79.99 (dual 10" f body ttop box) is great, very high quality and worth every penny.
My entire setup, which is very nice (not audiophile level by any means but great for me) cost me about $550 total. I've got a nice Alpine head unit, Type R 6.5" up front, 2x 10" 2011 Type R subs in your dual F body enclosure, an Alpine MRP-M1000 amp for the subs, and a MRP-F300 for the speakers, and a custom amp rack that sits on the upper hump of the trunk - carpeted to match with clear plexiglass to show off the amps.

you can bash them for being from walmart, but when they have never gave me a problem in 3+ years, they match my interior, and I blast them all the time, I cant justify spending a **** load of money on subs that may hit a little better haha waste of money IMO

they hit harder and the sound quality is loads better. i switched from kenwoods to JL's and the quality was alot more noticable. the JL's had a clear, deeper thump when the cheapo kenwoods just sounded loud
You guys are nuts. I picked up a CDT CF 10' from Ian with a box and a JL 700/5 amp a while back. It's loud but still sounds good. You guys must be after some crazy bass.

In an F-body anything more than a single 10 and a good amp doesn't make for good sound. It's just makes for stupidly loud bass that drowns out everything else. You know the hideous old Caprice on 26" rims you see rolling through the Walmart parking lot with the trunk being pulverized? That's what your F-body will sound like. Not good.
