Default Refrigerator sub box

Ok so I had a crazy idea today I have a kicker l5 in a box that's suppose to have two 10's I cut one side of it to fit my l5 and now the other side is empty so I had an idea to insulate that side and make it an icechest or find one of those small refrigerators that plus into a cigeratte lighter and modify it to work and make a lid for it it's really hot and I always leave water in my car and it gets too hot to drinks in just minutes tell me what you guys think if it's stupid or not

Instead of a refrigerator, you could make it a toilet. Would be damn handy on a road trip....

If the sub box is particle board or MDF then forget it... even a little condensation would kill that. Plywood, perhaps, if you could make sure that water doesn't directly get on the wood.

Are you talking about a thermoelectric cooler? Or a real refrigerator with a compressor?

A simple coat of fiberglass resin would completely seal the wood. They been doing it for years in oh whats those things called???? BOATS

OP try it, this could be very cool. I always pack ice chests when going somewhere for a while and especially to the track....

Epoxy resin will seal it, but polyester resin (more commonly used with fiberglass) will not. Either way, condensation will still kill LDF/MDF and this should only be attempted if the box is plywood.
