Default NEED HelP: RE battery relocation question

I've done all the readings for previous battery relocation threads, yet still have a few questions. My main question is regarding the alternator wire. Can i just mate this up with the 1 gauge traveling to the rear battery?? Or do I have to run it separately to the positive battery post?? I've seen some people run two large gauge calbes to the back (maybe one of the the alternator juice??) How about overall protection from shorting??? Can I run a slow blowing fuse inline with the 1gauge cable?? should I have this at the front (near the starter) or the rear (batterY), or both?? Lastly, regarding the cut off switch, is it as easy as running all the juice going to the front of the car through the switch (including the alternator wire) (do these cutoff switches have build in shorting protection)?? Wow, lots of questions. I'm mostly interested in the alternator wire question. I hope i can figure the rest out. Your help is appreciated.

Heres how Ive done battery relocations. You have two wires up front one power and one ground. Run a wire from the positive lead to where the battery went in front to the positive battery terminal in back. Connect the negative terminal of the battery to a metal part of the trunk of the car. I usually put a 200 amp inline fuse next to the battery incase something cuts the power wire you dont have sparks flying.

The little hole where the CD Changer goes is a perfect place for it. That's where mine is. Fits perfectly.
