Door speakers cutting in and out?

Door speakers cutting in and out? Hey guys, first let me tell you about the system.
Head unit is Alpine
Up front i have MB quartz component speakers in door with the tweeters in A pillar. Crossover in glovebox.
I have a 4 channel 700watt amp in back with stealth sub and it also powers the components.
Here is the problem. I was listening to music and my cutout was open and my front speakers started cutting out like a connection was loose, but the tweeters were still working, and then i close the cutout(ecutout) the sound comes back. So where would a wire be loose at? i wiggled the crossover and nothing happend. Could it be the back of the head unit? Its a loose connection, but where should i start? Also what do you need to take out the head unit? a slim screwdriver?
