Default Tweeter Pods

I got these install last night in the car. This sure does beat cutting the door panel like I did in my last car.

What do you think of performance? Was there a noticeable difference between the two positions? I have long been wanting to pick a set of these up and try them out, but haven't seen many reviews.

Seems like the tweeters are angled down a bit too much if you ask me... Though still much, much better than the stock location. I had tweeter pods in my Camaro from someone else and they didn't angle down like that...

They sound is alot better with they pods, than haveing them in the doors. These are the same tweeters I had when they were in my doors. They do angle down a little but they get the job done.

I went out and looked at the pods. I guess I got the angle on the drive side a little off when I made some adjustments to get the tweeters to fit flush. I guess I will have to live with it.

I thought about doing that, but I prefer where I have them on the windshield pillar.

This might sound a little crazy, but is there any chance you accidentally switched the pods side for side? That might account for the "unusual" angle...

No. The hole for the tweeters (CDT) was a little small. I will take a picture of the other side tomorrow. It looks better.

I don't see why. That's a scientifically worse location by far...

Bounces off the windshield, it sounds good. Chevy does it on some of the later model Tahoes and the like. To each his own.

Wish I would have gotten those before I had my tweeters installed into my windshield pillar. Oh well, the hole is there now so I guess that is life...

They do that because it's easier/cheaper, not because it sounds good. It is better to have the tweeters facing you as directly as possible. It's physics, not opinion. My G8 has the stock tweeters in the dash and it makes them sound incredibly shrill. I can probably fix a lot of it with equalization which I plan to use anyway, but I'd rather get a better tweeter setup with tweeter pods like the ones you can get for your F-bodies.

So how does bouncing off the windshield make them sound shrill as opposed to pointing directly at you? Asking for specifics, because I'll be re-doing the new car I get.

Not sure what is up with "dragonrage," and his tweeter pod pushing. He took a dump in one of my earlier threads about this topic. When I posted about an alternative tweeter mounting concept that uses less than $20 worth of Home Depot pieces/parts, he said this:
