Default PIE GM9-AUX Question

2002 Trans Am

- Can this adapter be used with a factory Monsoon system that HAS a factory disk changer in the back of the car.

- If it can be used, will the disc changer then be rendered useless??

Thank you!!!

Yes and maybe.

The GM9-AUX requires a head unit that is capable of controlling the optional CD changer so yours obviously has that capability.

Normally you would unplug the changer and plug the GM9-AUX in its place but the adapter has a pass-through port on it that lets you plug the changer back in. It doesn't work on f-bodies up to the 2000 model year but rumor has it that the 01 and 02 models are capable of handling both the changer and an auxiliary input. The only one I know that tried it actually got it to work but could still hear the changer audio while using the auxiliary input. It's worth a try on your 02 but I would be prepared for the possibility that the changer will have to be disconnected.
